Royal3D is now ready to bring to the market the Interlayer Control System to support other 3D printing companies in achieving consistent, high-quality results. Powered by years of hands-on experience, this solution enables smarter process control, fewer failures, and greater efficiency across production.
The Interlayer Control System monitors and logs the temperature continuously throughout the entire printing process. By capturing and analyzing thermal information, the system provides clear insights into print quality and process stability, helping to reduce misprints, material waste, and unexpected printing delays.
The system is created for 3D printing installations equipped with a PLC, which can return the XYZ-coordinated location of the nozzle. Using a thermal camera with a 160 × 140-pixels, interlayer temperatures are measured and logged in real time, offering a detailed view of temperature consistency and layer adhesion throughout the build process.
Installation of the Interlayer Control System is approximately four steps. The first three steps, the required hardware and software are installed and fully integrated into the existing printing setup. The final step is dedicated to system calibration, ensuring accurate measurements and reliable performance. To ensure optimal functionality, regular calibration checks are required.
Once installed, the Interlayer Control System operates fully automated on a dedicated computer. This allows the system to run independently while seamlessly integrating into existing production workflows.
