Royal3D is revolutionizing public spaces

News

Public spaces are evolving, and so is the art that defines them. Royal3D is leading a new era of urban expression by using advanced 3D printing to produce sculptural landmarks that are as bold and imaginative as the cities they inhabit.

Where once public art was carved from stone or cast in metal, Royal3D offers something radically different: the freedom to 3D print without boundaries. From fluid geometries to integrated and modular forms, the company's large-scale 3D printers and extensive knowledge open a world of creative possibilities for artists, designers, and city-makers.

However, the focus extends beyond form, it is equally about purpose. Royal3D’s technology makes it possible to produce larger objects in less time, without compromising performance or impact.

By combining digital precision with circular manufacturing practices, Royal3D is expanding the ways artworks are produced. The printed objects are made of recycled materials, reducing waste and following circular design principles in every project.

The utilization of Royal3D production experience, allows to manufacture the complex curves and interactive surfaces envisioned by artists to become practical realities.

Whether permanent installations or mobile structures, sculptures are 3D-printed modularly to allow easy shipment and fast on-site assembly. 3D printing manufacturing process removes the need for molds or traditional fabrication, projects move from design to delivery in a fraction of the usual time.

One example is the Eurovision microphone trophy. Produced in both small and extra large scale, this project transformed a Eurovision trophy into an architectural and urban sculpture experience.

The gradual increase in scale shifts perception from product to environment, encouraging viewers to move around, interact with, and reinterpret the object in new ways. Printed in nearly four days with our CFAM printer, the microphone trophy weights 459kg with its 4 meter height. The 7 pieced print was produced with 100% recycled PET-G, taking its from the waterways of Rotterdam.

At Royal3D, our goal is to manufacture artistic and architectural designs into tangible objects for international artists, architects, cultural institutions, and municipalities, transforming streets, squares, and public spaces into inspiring destinations

Whether you are envisioning a sculptural centerpiece for a plaza, a pavilion for a festival, or a collaborative community art project, Royal3D invites you to explore what is possible when art and manufacturing innovation come together.
