Aqua Drone
Royal3D is designing the next-generation autonomous aquatic drone. The drone incorporates maritime innovation, AI technology, 3D printing and advanced electronics to set new standards and ensure both human and wildlife safety. We are creating a prototype by integrating our design, engineering, and production knowledge for companies developing their own autonomous systems.
Containing a parametric and modular design, the drone can be adjusted towards the client’s needs and depending on the requirements of its purpose. With next-generation additive manufacturing, the drone is strong, stiff, and weldable, while using lightweight, watertight, and impact-resistant materials, thus guaranteeing greater performance in harsh maritime environments. For its’ creation we utilized specially developed thermoplastic polymers for 3D printing while adopting maritime operations into construction and weight for 3D printing structures. It has cultivated Royal3D’s IP knowledge to control the layer adhesion with InfraRed cameras during the 3D printing process.
The drone follows Royal3D’s values by incorporating recycled and recyclable PETG fiber reinforced materials, further minimizing waste and environmental impact. Partly subsidized by the EU CrossRoads program, the aquatic drone can be used for surveillance and gathering data for maintenance, risk-reduction, development, and collision prevention.
